Jodie is mispronouncing your company name, email address, or website on calls.

Cause

Jodie sometimes mispronounces unfamiliar words - especially company names, acronyms, email addresses, and website URLs.

Common examples:

  • "Acme" pronounced as "Ak-mee" instead of "Ack-me"

  • "[email protected]" read literally instead of "my name at hotmail dot com"

  • Compound words like "GameStop" spoken as one word instead of "Game Stop"

Fix

Add custom pronunciations. Jodie will use your preferred spelling-for-speech whenever she says these words.

  1. Go to Agent Setup then Identity & Voice then Pronunciations

  2. Click Add Pronunciation

  3. Enter the Word (e.g. `Acme`) and the Say as value (e.g. `Ack-me`)

  4. Click Save

Jodie will update automatically. The change applies to both her greeting and everything she says during calls.

Tips for good pronunciations

Company name

Word: `Acme`

Say as: `Ack-me`.

Phonetic spelling guides TTS.

Email

Say as: `hello at ack-me dot com`.

Replace symbols with words.

Website

Say as: `ack-me dot com`.

Drop the www, replace dots.

Acronym

Word: `NHS`

Say as: `N H S`.

Add spaces to spell it out.

Compound word

Word: `GameStop`

Say as: `Game Stop`.

Split so TTS pauses correctly.

Diagnose first

Listen to a recent call recording:

Consistently wrong on one word
