How to set up call transfers

Set up Jodie to automatically transfer calls to you when customers need to speak with a real person or have emergencies.

Can Jodie transfer calls to my team? How do I set up call transfers? Yes β€” Jodie can transfer callers directly to you or your staff when they ask to speak to a real person or in emergencies.


How to set it up

  1. Go to Settings > Transfers

  2. Turn on the Transfer System toggle

  3. Click Edit next to "Transfer Configuration"

  4. Add your Transfer Phone Number (where calls should go)

  5. Enable the scenarios you want:

    • Real Person Request: When customers ask to speak to someone

    • Emergency Situations: When customers mention emergencies

  6. Click Save

Your call transfer system is now active.


How it works

Jodie automatically detects when to transfer calls and connects customers directly to your phone.

Real Person Requests:

  • Customer: "Could I speak to a real person please?"

  • Jodie: "Let me transfer you to someone who can help" β†’ transfers call

Emergency Situations:

  • Customer: "This is an emergency, I need immediate assistance"

  • Jodie: Immediately transfers the call without delay


What you need

  • A phone number where you can receive transferred calls

  • At least one transfer scenario enabled

Note: Call transfers are available on the Professional and Premium plans. If you're on the Basic plan, upgrade your plan to access transfers.


Common issues

System shows as "Inactive"? Make sure you've turned on the toggle and added a transfer phone number.

Calls not transferring? Check that your transfer number is correct and you have the right scenarios enabled.
