Jodie to Always Ask for Full Phone Number

Setting to make Jodie ask for phone numbers instead of confirming caller ID. Use when call forwarding shows wrong number, PBX, switchboard, or caller ID is incorrect.

Controls how Jodie collects phone numbers during calls.

How it works

OFF (default) Jodie sees the incoming caller ID and asks the caller to confirm the last 3 digits it:

"Is the number ending 123 the best number to reach you on?"

ON Jodie ignores caller ID and asks for the number directly:

"What's the best number to reach you on?"

When to enable

Enable this if:

  • You forward calls to Jodie (caller ID shows your number, not theirs)

  • Calls route through a PBX or switchboard

  • Messages contain incorrect phone numbers

  • Callers frequently correct the number Jodie reads back

Leave it off if:

  • Calls come in directly (no forwarding)

  • Caller ID is usually accurate

  • You prefer faster calls (confirming is quicker than dictating)

Setup

  1. Open Smart Questions

2. Click Advanced Settings

3. Under Customize Questions, enable Always ask for full phone number

4. Click Save Changes

Changes apply to the next call. Existing messages are not affected.

Notes

  • Only affects phone number collection. Other questions unchanged.

  • If unsure, leave it off. Enable if you see wrong numbers in messages.
